What PlaceNest is
PlaceNest is a local marketplace and secure workspace for people, property and services in the Canberra region. PlaceNest operates across Australia — every state and territory.
Enquiries, messages, applications and documents stay in your account, and every action is checked against your permissions on the server. Agencies and property managers can use an organisation workspace for leads, contacts and team tasks; some business features are still being introduced and are labelled where they appear.
- Rent: whole properties advertised for rent.
- Share: private or shared rooms.
- Parking: garages, carports and parking bays.
- Lease Transfer: taking over a current tenant's lease, or replacing a tenant in a share house.
- Services: finding or offering home services, such as cleaning, plumbing or solar.
Creating an account and signing in
You can browse advertisements without an account. To enquire, apply, advertise or post a service request, you need to sign in.
- Select Sign up (or Log in if you already have an account) at the top of the page.
- Complete sign-in with PlaceNest's secure sign-in service. PlaceNest does not store your password.
- Open My profile and add a display name. PlaceNest only asks for what the marketplace needs.
- If you plan to advertise, also add your private contact details on your profile. You need them before you can publish an advertisement.
Good to know: Your private contact details are never shown to logged-out visitors. Each advertisement has its own choice about showing them to signed-in members.
What you can do on PlaceNest
- Renters and applicants
- Search for a home, send enquiries, apply through PlaceNest, track your application and respond to requests for more information.
- Property owners and landlords
- Advertise a property or room, answer enquiries and review applications for your advertisements.
- Agents and property managers
- List as a professional agent, work with your agency, and review applications for advertisements you manage.
- Existing tenants sharing a room
- Advertise a room in the home you rent and screen applicants. You can send an application to your landlord or managing agent if they need to consider it.
- Lease transfers
- Advertise a lease you want someone to take over, or apply to take one over.
- Home services
- Post a request for a service, or create a provider profile and respond to open requests.

Important: PlaceNest does not verify ownership, agency, landlord or managing-agent authority. Who is advertising is shown as stated by the advertiser; not verified by PlaceNest.
- PlaceNest does not rank or score applicants, and does not choose the successful applicant.
- An approval or selection in PlaceNest is not a signed tenancy agreement, a bond payment or a transfer of a tenancy.
- PlaceNest never contacts referees itself.
- PlaceNest has not verified service providers' licences, insurance or business details.
